Dating to around the early 1900s, this fabulous piece is crafted in 9ct Rose Gold and weighs a substantial 35.1 grams. Measuring approximately 15 inches in length, it has fantastic presence worn around the neck while retaining that unmistakable character of an original gentleman's watch chain.
The star of the chain itself is its unusual fancy link construction. These links measure 6mm in width and have a broad, flattened oval or disc-like profile, connected in an alternating formation that creates a wonderfully architectural appearance. Viewed from the front, the rounded links dominate; from the side, the construction becomes much more apparent.
This piece features three swivel clasps, these wonderful original fittings are not only part of the Albert's historical character, but make the chain incredibly versatile for modern wear, allowing charms, pendants and fobs to be attached and changed with ease. At the centre hangs a classic 35mm T-bar, giving you that instantly recognisable Albert-chain look when worn as a necklace. It also features a fabulous Antique 9ct Gold compass that transforms the Albert into a complete piece of wearable history. The compass adds another layer of character without overwhelming the chain, while the multiple swivel fittings mean there is plenty of scope to personalise the piece further.
