9ct Gold Victorian Longuard Chain
A fabulous Victorian Longuard chain measuring 62 inches and weighing 40.9 grams. Crafted from a traditional belcher link in what we suspect to have been the late 1800s this chain is your piece of history.
The Longuard is one of our favourite items, suitable to be wrapped multiple times and worn in a variety of styles we love the versatility that this must have item offers. This particular chain comes complete with swivel, decoration in itself or to be used to attach any number of accessories. Each link is oval with a 3mm diameter. The swivel has the initials E.J.W stamped on the outside but we cannot find out anything about the makers
The chain is a delight to hold, touch and wear. You can feel the quality of its links and smoothness and given its age is in absolutely pristine condition.There are no markings but we guarantee the carat of this necklace which has been tested with an XRF analyser. This chain can also be sent to the Dublin Assay Office for marking upon request.
