The original Albert chain measures 15 inches in length and weighs an impressive 36.9 grams, featuring beautifully uniformed 5.5mm curb links, each individually hallmarked, a wonderful sign of quality rarely found on modern chains. There is a substantial 35mm T-bar suspended from its original double swivel fitting, both carrying the sought-after HA&S Makers Mark for Henry Allday & Son, renowned chain manufacturers of Warstone Lane, Birmingham. Their name is synonymous with some of the finest British Albert chains produced during the late Victorian and Edwardian periods.
As this original chain is shorter than the average Albert, it has been thoughtfully paired with a 7.5-inch antique extender, itself taken from another original Albert chain. Weighing 19.1 grams, the extender features slightly larger 6mm individually hallmarked curb links, perfectly complementing the original necklace while maintaining complete authenticity.
Together, the necklace and extender create a stunning Albert chain measuring 24 inches in total and weighing a substantial 56.1 grams.
