Date 1946! 9ct Gold Domino Medal by Thomas Fattorini (Higher Resolution Photos)

PRICE: €995 | MATERIAL: OUR REF : 1142

A fabulous and rather unusual 9ct Gold Medal featuring a wonderfully detailed domino motif at its centre.

This one has a completely different character to the more traditional sporting and shield medals, and the subject matter makes it especially charming. The front is beautifully worked, with an oval centre surrounded by elaborate engraved decoration. Taking pride of place is a raised domino, its individual spots picked out in relief and framed by hand-cut detailing. The outer border has a wonderfully ornate, almost scroll-like design, giving the medal plenty of texture and catching the light beautifully.

The reverse has been left completely plain, providing a generous space for personal engraving if desired. The medal was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1946 and carries the Makers Mark T.F for Thomas Fattorini, one of Britain's best-known historic manufacturers of medals, badges and insignia.

It measures approximately 32mm by 24mm excluding the bail and weighs a substantial 7.1 grams. The original suspension ring remains attached, making it ready to wear.

This would make a brilliant addition to an antique or vintage gold collection, particularly for someone looking for something a little more individual. Wear it as a pendant on a simple chain, add it to a charm collection, or suspend it from an Albert chain for a more traditional look.

All photography is done in-house. These images are not enhanced or airbrushed — what you see is exactly the item you will receive.
