Antique Victorian Crescent Stick/Tie Pin (Higher Resolution Photos)

An antique Victorian natural pearl Crescent Moon tie pin set in 15-carat yellow gold. Stick pins have been popular for over almost 300 years originally worn by Gentlemen of the establishment. As they became more popular they were worn by both men and women, on lapels, scarves and ties. Most of the replicas were produced between 1880 and 1920, as was this pin. The crescent moon has a 13mm diameter and the pin (hinged for ease of wear) measures 27mm. Tests as 15ct gold but not marked and weighs 1.7 grams.
