18ct Old European Cut Three Stone Diamond Ring 1.96cts (Higher Resolution Photos)
This ring was most probably commissioned by an individual who had inherited some wonderfully sparkly Old European Cut diamonds. The brief to the goldsmith would have been a simple one: a chunky, three stone ring that will protect the diamonds but showcase their brilliance. And the goldsmith delivered.
The ring itself is a block design suitable for both men and women and extremely impressive on the finger. Measuring 15mm across the ring will fill the span of the average ladies ring finger and the average mens pinky.
It has a chunky, solid design that wouldn't need an awful amount of minding and would be suitable for most professions (but we would never recommend the building site!).
We estimate 1.96carat as the total carat weight, the central stone is measuring 0.90ct shouldered either side by a 0.52ct and 0.54ct. The ring is not hallmarked but tests 18ct gold.
