Date 1896 - 1898! Antique 9ct Gold Rose Gold Roller Albert Chain (Higher Resolution Photos)
Produced between 1896 and 1898 by Charles Daniel Broughton of St Pauls Square in Birmingham this is an absolute beauty.
This albert chain is rather unusual. Unlike many of its counterparts it is not crafted from the classic rounded curb link but instead a roller ball, the rolling part of each link having a fabulous hexagonal pattern that we have not seen before.
The two swivels, both perfectly in tact, are also stamped CDB as is the 4cm long rose gold T-Bar. Each link is also stamped 375 and the necklace really has been wonderfully preserved. It has been polished so is looking much more sparkly than one would expect from a piece of gold crafted over 120 years ago. And it weighs an impressive 43.6 grams. It feels wonderful to hold and to wear and boasts an additional stamped link at its base (where the T-Bar connects) so you could easily add an additional fob or medal or any accessory at all really!
We simply love it!
The chain is 16 inches long and the t-bat hangs an additional half an inch in length.
