We are delighted to present this wonderful 9ct Gold Scarab Ring with enamelling detailing.
The Egyptians saw the Egyptian Scarab as a symbol of renewal and rebirth and these Scarabs were widely popular throughout Ancient Egypt becoming popular in the early Middle Kingdom (approximately 2000 BCE) and have remained popular for the rest of the Pharaonic Period and beyond.
The Scarabs were usually carved from stone or Egyptian Faience and were used as an impression seal and were usually inscribed with designs or hieroglyphs. This ring features a lovely Turquoise Blue Scarab that measures 13mm by 9mm.
The Scarab is surrounded by red, green and blue enamelling and the face of Tutankhamun who was the antepenultimate Pharaoh of the Eighteenth Dynasty of Ancient Egypt. Tutankhamun helped restore traditional Egyptian religion and art.
This ring measures 22mm in length and looks outstanding on the finger. It weighs 5.4 grams and is currently a Size H. (Please enquire about sizing).
This style of Jewellery was often connected to Khepri who was a Scarab faced Sun-God who represented the rising or morning sun.
Featuring an historic Scarab, the Pharaoh; Tutankhamun and having connections to the Sun-God Khepri, this ring really is a magnificent slice of History!
