An Antique Vinaigrette crafted from 9ct Rose Gold. It features Scottish Banded Agate which looks beautifully semi translucent.
Vinaigrette's were small containers used to hold a perfume-soaked sponge or piece of cotton. They were used mostly when travelling as a more accessible and practical alternative method of carrying perfume and scents than moving large glass bottles and vials.
It measures 24mm in length, 18mm in width and has 14mm depth. It is in wonderful condition and weighs 10.4 grams.
The piece unfortunately, has no hallmark but we estimate that this dates back to the late 1800s or early 1900s!
