This is an exceptional example of an Antique 18ct Yellow Gold Albert Chain. It possesses everything collectors seek in a high-quality Albert. Beautifully preserved and remarkably complete, it retains all of its original fittings, including the swivel clasp, bolt ring, T-bar and the original extension links used for attaching fobs, medals and other treasured accessories.
Crafted in rich 18ct Gold and weighing an impressive 36.5 grams, the chain is formed from substantial uniformed 5mm curb links, with every single link individually stamped. Collectors place enormous importance on this detail, as fully stamped links are a hallmark of quality construction and authenticity. Albert chains were traditionally fitted with a T-bar, swivel and watch attachment, originally designed to secure a gentleman's pocket watch whilst also displaying personal fobs and medals.
The chain is fitted with a handsome 34mm T-bar carrying the maker's mark EK, whilst the original swivel bears the maker's mark R & P. The bolt ring is also stamped, demonstrating the remarkable attention to detail throughout. Finding an Albert chain where every major component remains original is increasingly uncommon, particularly in high-carat gold.
