Date 1918! Antique Shield Medal by William Walter Cashmore (Higher Resolution Photos)

PRICE: €675 | MATERIAL: OUR REF : 1123

A beautiful and wonderfully decorative Antique 9ct Gold Shield Fob, dating to 1918 and made by renowned Birmingham jeweller William Walter Cashmore.

The fob has an elegant, elongated shield shape which is surrounded by beautifully engraved foliate decoration and finished with elaborate pierced scrollwork across the top. At its centre sits a raised shield-shaped cartouche, which has been left unengraved, making this a particularly lovely example for anyone wanting the character of an original antique fob without somebody else's initials or presentation inscription.

The reverse is equally attractive, with further engraved decoration and another blank central shield, meaning both sides display beautifully when worn. This is an important detail for a fob that will naturally move and turn on a chain.

At 6.6 grams, it has a lovely weight and substance without being overly heavy. The fob itself measures approximately 31mm by 25mm, excluding the bail, giving it plenty of presence whether worn alone or as part of a collection. It has a gorgeous mellow antique hue which allows it to sit beautifully alongside both antique Yellow and Rose Gold, making it a particularly versatile addition to an existing collection. A jump ring is included for ease of attachment, ready to add to an Albert chain, necklace or charm bracelet.

All photography is done in-house. These images are not enhanced or airbrushed — what you see is exactly the item you will receive.
