This is a striking Sapphire and Diamond Ring with unmistakable Art Deco influence that combines strong geometric lines, contrasting gemstones and beautifully detailed white metal work.
At its centre is a 1.35ct emerald-cut sapphire, chosen for its rich, deep blue colour and wonderfully crisp shape. Rather than surrounding it with a conventional halo, the setting uses a geometric arrangement of diamonds interspersed with slim baguette-cut sapphire accents at the corners. The contrast creates that distinctive architectural look so closely associated with Art Deco jewellery.
It is set with approximately 0.30cts of diamonds throughout the surround which also continue along the shoulders, giving the ring sparkle from every angle without taking attention away from the central sapphire. Fine milgrain-style edging adds further definition to the different sections of the design and gives the setting a beautifully intricate finish.
The side profile is equally well considered, with an open gallery beneath the stones allowing the ring to sit neatly on the finger despite the impressive face. At 4.1 grams, it has a lovely quality and substance to it, while the tapered band keeps it comfortable for everyday wear.
