9ct Rose Gold Double Albert Chain Hallmarked in Chester in 1924! (Higher Resolution Photos)
Oh how we adore the albert chain and this one is no exception. Originally hallmarked in Chester in 1924 each link is individually stamped decorated with both T-Bar and medal.
The medal has the words 'ANCIENT AND LOYAL' written in enamel and the reverse is blank (and could therefore be personalised). This would originally have been worn across the waistcoat with the 't' bar through the button hole and the two graduated chains spread across the pockets to each side, the medal suspended beneath. Quite the statement!
The chain length is 15 inches with the decorations hanging an additional 2.5 inches. It is secured with a double swivel and weighs 54.4g. Works perfectly for its original purpose or as a necklace.
