Masters Whip Fox Hunting Brooch/Stock Pin (Higher Resolution Photos)
Masters Whips are not rare when it come to stock pins, but this is a class above any that we have seen. We cannot tell from the hallmark when this was manufactured and nor can we recognise the makers mark but we do know that they craft with such refined quality this will not fail to impress.
Crafted from 14ct Gold with a Platinum addition on the whip and Diamonds for eyes this is a beautiful piece.
These brooches are really known as stock pins as they were originally worn as a safety measure to secure a stock when out hunting. In the event of an injury, the stock may be used as a temporary bandage for a horse’s leg or used as a sling for a riders arm, using the hunting stock pin to secure the stock in place.
Stock pins continue to be used today by those competing at dressage, show jumping, eventing and in the hunting field.
This weighs 9.2 grams and stretches to 68mm.
